Bio

Coach Andy Ward enters his 26th year as a collegiate basketball coach. He has coached at both the community college and NCAA Division 1 levels. He served at both Eastern Wyoming College and Salt Lake Community College as an assistant coach from 1996-2002 and was named the head coach at Eastern Wyoming College in 2002. As the head coach at Eastern Wyoming College, he led the Lancers to 3 Region IX Championship appearances and was named Region IX Coach of the Year in 2004. Also in 2004, the Lancers finished 8th in the country- the best finish in Eastern Wyoming College history.

He became the head coach at Northwest College in 2007, leading the Trappers to a 25-7 record during the 2009-10 season.

From 2012-2018, he served as the Associate Head Coach at NCAA Division 1, Idaho State University. During his tenure for the Bengals, the ISU men’s basketball teams had 2 seasons eclipsing more wins than the program had experienced in two decades.

From 2018-2021, Coach Ward led the Treasure Valley Community College Chukars. During the 2019-20 season, the Chukars qualified for the NWAC Championships for the 1st time in 5 years.

Coach Ward returned to Northwest College in 2022 and led the Trappers to a 20-11 record and Final Four appearance in the Region IX Tournament. He has coached over 100 student athletes who have played at 4- year colleges and universities all over the country.
