NWC MEN LOSE IN QUARTERFINAL

March 20, 2025

Heading to Gillette for the Region IX Tournament the Northwest College men’s basketball team fell for the second consecutive year in the Region IX quarterfinal, this time to Western Nebraska 84-67.

NWC MEN GRIND OUT PLAY-IN WIN

The Northwest College men’s basketball team grinded out a Region IX play-in game win at Cabre Gym on Saturday, defeating Central Wyoming 62-53 to earn a trip to Gillette for the Region IX Tournament.

TRAPPER MEN FALL IN FINAL GAME

Playing for seeding in the final game of the regular season, the Northwest College men’s basketball team came up short against Gillette College on Feb. 27. The Trappers lost 87-82 in overtime to the visiting Pronghorns.

TRAPPERS FALL ON THE ROAD

February 27, 2025

The Northwest College men’s basketball team found itself on the wrong side of double digit losses in two tough road contests, falling to Casper College 99-83 on Feb. 19 before losing to Western Wyoming 91-69 on Saturday.

TRAPPERS ROLL PAST CENTRAL

February 20, 2025

In a physical battle at home on Thursday, the Northwest College men’s basketball team avenged an earlier season loss, defeating Central Wyoming 72-43 to win a third straight game.

TRAPPER MEN EARN TWO WINS

February 13, 2025

The Northwest College men’s basketball team rallied Friday and weathered a comeback attempt Saturday to add two more wins to the season tally. The Trappers defeated Eastern Wyoming 90-79 before holding on against Laramie County Community College 85-77 to complete two regular season sweeps.

FIRST HALF PROVES TOO MUCH FOR TRAPPER MEN

First half struggles led to a large deficit at the break for the Northwest College men’s basketball team, and a late comeback came up short as the Trappers fell against Gillette College 83-77 on the road Saturday.

TRAPPER MEN GO 2-1 ON ROAD SWING

January 30, 2025

The Northwest College men’s basketball team finished a long road swing with two wins in three games over five days. The Trappers defeated Laramie County Community College 106-95 on Friday and Eastern Wyoming 73-68 on Saturday before losing to Central Wyoming 55-52 on Tuesday night.

Colin Hayes led the Trappers with 27 points against Casper College as the Trapper men split their first two Region IX North matchups on Thursday and Saturday.

NWC MEN SPLIT REGION OPENERS

January 23, 2025

Two different types of games led to two different results for the Northwest College men’s basketball team to open Region IX action, as the Trappers lost to Casper College in a high-paced game 91-86 on Thursday before defeating Western Wyoming in a lower scoring affair 72-62 on Saturday.

NWC MEN PULL AWAY LATE

January 16, 2025

Ending the first game of the year with a late push the Northwest College men’s basketball team pulled away from Miles Community College on the road on Thursday, using a 14-2 run late to earn the 98-83 win to wrap up nonconference action.

NWC MEN RUN AWAY WITH HOME CONTESTS

December 19, 2024

Ending the first semester with a pair of games at home against former players, the Northwest College men’s basketball team ran away from the All-Stars out of Utah 96-56 on Friday and the Northwest College Alumni team 113-78 on Saturday.

TRAPPER MEN FALL SHORT ON ROAD TRIP

December 12, 2024

One last long road trip of the first semester saw the Northwest College men’s basketball team drop a pair of games against difficult opponents, as the Trappers fell to Williston State College 79-71 on Friday and to Dawson Community College 79-72 on Saturday.

TRAPPER MEN SWEEP TRIO OF GAMES

December 05, 2024

Heading on a long road trip to North Dakota before returning home for a quick game on Tuesday night, the Northwest College men’s basketball team completed a three game sweep, defeating Bismarck State College 87-81, United Tribes Technical College 77-51 and the Rocky Mountain College JV 99-91.

Hosting the Coach Collins Heart of a Champion Classic, the Northwest College men’s basketball team was on opposite sides of a pair of late runs, defeating Bismarck State College 83-69 on Friday before losing to Dawson Community College in a turnover plagued contest 83-81 in overtime on Saturday.

NWC MEN SHOOT TO TWO WINS

November 21, 2024

Exceptional shooting helped the Northwest College men’s basketball team extend its winning streak to three games in Casper this past weekend, defeating Northeastern Junior College 88-73 on Friday and Fort Hays Tech Northwest 94-87 on Saturday.

CONDIE, PORTER NAMED HEART OF A CHAMPION WINNERS

In between the Northwest College men’s and women’s basketball games on Friday night the Trappers honored the memory of the late Jay Collins who passed away suddenly in July 2022. The Trapper coaches each picked one player on their team who best represents what Collins stood for during his time as the Northwest College men’s basketball head coach. Sophomores Preston Condie and Jai’La Porter were named the Heart of a Champion award recipients for 2024.
