FORMER CODY COACH TABBED TO LEAD NWC VOLLEYBALL

After a search that lasted just over a month following the departure of Scott Keister, Northwest College has its new head volleyball coach. Former Cody High School coach Nicole Buck (formerly Nicole Gwynn) was named the new Trapper coach last week.

NWC VOLLEYBALL WRAPS UP WITH WIN

Ending the season on the road the Northwest College volleyball team finished on a high, earning a 3-1 win over Gillette College on Saturday.

FIVE SET FLURRY: TRAPERS ELIMINATED AFTER DIFFICULT HOME FINALE

Three five set matches in five days wrapped up the home schedule for the Northwest College volleyball team and, with two losses, eliminated the Trappers from postseason contention.

TRAPPERS STUMBLE ON THE ROAD

A narrow contest decided by a fifth set run and a poor day on Saturday set back the Northwest College volleyball team’s quest for the postseason, losing to Western Wyoming 3-2 on Friday and to Casper 3-1 on Saturday to spoil the Trapper’s momentum on the road.

BACK IN FORM: NWC VOLLEYBALL WINS HOME WEEKEND

Back at home after a three game road swing and some momentum following a win that snapped a four game losing streak, the Northwest College women’s volleyball team earned two more wins, defeating the Rocky Mountain JV 3-1 and Gillette College 3-0.

TRAPPER VOLLEYBALL SNAPS LOSING SKID

After a poor start to Region IX play the Northwest College volleyball team desperately needed a win to wrap up its quick three game road swing. The Trappers got their win on Tuesday night over Central Wyoming 3-1 after losing to Eastern Wyoming 3-1 and getting swept by Laramie County Community College over the weekend.

TRAPPER VOLLEYBALL STUMBLES IN REGION OPENERS

A disappointing weekend at home led to an 0-2 start in Region IX action for the Northwest College volleyball team on Friday and Saturday, losing to Western Wyoming 3-1 before being swept by Casper College on Saturday.

NWC VOLLEYBALL 15-1 HALFWAY THROUGH

One last road trip north for nonconference action saw the Northwest College volleyball team wrap up the first half of the season with a 15-1 record and head into Region IX play on a high note.

Sierra Kilts and the Trappers finished the Trapper Invitational with only one set dropped, and now head on their final nonconference road swing of the season.

TRAPPER VOLLEYBALL STARTS SEASON STRONG

August 29, 2024

A strong opening performance at home last Thursday against Miles Community College earned the Northwest College volleyball team a 1-0 start to the season, during a week which also included the chance Friday to compete against former Trapper alumni.

Aidann Mottishaw of Idaho Falls, Idaho, is one of six incoming freshmen for the Trapper volleyball team, and will look to make her mark at the setting position this season.

TRAPPER VOLLEYBALL SET FOR HOME OPENER THIS THURSDAY

Three weeks of preparation and practice will come to fruition this week on the court for the Northwest College volleyball team, kicking off the 2024 season Thursday and Friday in Cabre Gym.

The Northwest College volleyball team finished at the top in academics for the Trappers last year, as five teams and 43 athletes received recognition for their academic excellence.

Five Northwest College teams and 43 individuals were named to the NJCAA All-Academic Teams for the 2023-24 season, capping off a successful academic year for the Trappers.

VOLLEYBALL CAMP DRAWS A CROWD

The annual All Skills Camp at Northwest College sold out for all age levels, drawing in 120 athletes from 3 years old all the way through incoming high school seniors at Cabre Gym in early July.

TRAPPER VOLLEYBALL WELCOMES SEVEN FRESHMAN

Northwest College volleyball will welcome seven freshmen to the team this year, three of those being Wyoming prospects, including Powell’s own Kenzie Fields who is joining the practice squad this fall.

The Northwest College volleyball team will be returning nine players from last year’s roster, with the Trappers hoping for an improvement this fall after a strong spring.
